AI Daybreak: Your Daily Dose of Silicon Beach Madness
By Tommy Vee
Buckle up fellas, because today we’re talking about some AI that’s anything but boring. From Microsoft’s fight against Rogue hackers and Gumloop’s rise out of a bedroom hustle to OpenAI letting you turn ChatGPT into your personal chatbot with a personality, we’ve got everything from smart automation to AI that finally gets your vibe. It’s time to kick the old way of doing things to the curb—let’s dive in, baby!
Gumloop: From Bedroom Hustlers to Big Leagues
These guys, Max and Rahul, didn’t just wake up with a dream—they built it in a bedroom. Gumloop automates workflows for non-techies with a slick drag-and-drop builder. Forget overpriced, glitchy AI tools—they’re solving real problems without the fluff. Teams at Instacart are already in on the action. Now with $17M in Series A, they’re planning to take over the game with a small but mighty team. Who needs a big crew when you’ve got AI on your side, huh?

Microsoft vs Rogue Hackers: The Great AI Heist
Microsoft is cracking down on a group of hackers it claims infiltrated its Azure OpenAI Service by stealing customer credentials. In a lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of Virginia, Microsoft accuses these unnamed defendants, referred to as “Does,” of using a custom-built tool called de3u to bypass safety measures and generate offensive content. This wasn’t just a one-off breach; Microsoft alleges it was a well-organized hacking-as-a-service operation, complete with stolen API keys and tools designed to dodge content filters.
The tech giant discovered the breach in July 2024, realizing that stolen credentials were being used to produce content violating its policies. The stolen API keys allowed the hackers to reverse engineer Microsoft’s systems and exploit them to their advantage. Microsoft isn’t holding back—they’ve seized a key website linked to the hackers and are implementing new countermeasures to prevent further attacks. It’s a serious play to not only shut down the operation but also bolster their AI services against future threats.

You can tell it your name, profession, and even choose from traits like “Chatty” or “Encouraging” (so it sounds just like that friend who never shuts up or the one who’s too positive). It’s all about making ChatGPT your own personal assistant with a tone that suits you. Forget cold, robotic replies—now you get what you really want. Think of it as ChatGPT with a personality makeover. What are you waiting for? Go tell it who’s boss.
